Bikini-clad transgender Gauri Arora: I have gifted myself a vagina

'MTV Splitsvilla 8' contestant Gaurav Arora, who came out about being a transgender in public last year and changed his name to Gauri Arora, is among the participants of 'India's Next Top Model'. Gauri walked down the ramp in a bikini in the first episode of the show.

While speaking in front of judges Malaika Arora, Milind Soman, Anusha Dandekar and Dabboo Ratnani, Gauri Arora said, "Being a woman is a gift and I have gifted myself a vagina.Three years ago I was a male model. I was on a Men's cover magazine. Then I did a show with MTV as a male model. I had 8 pack abs, 16-inch biceps. I was a fit model... I still feel nervous because I have broad shoulders, broad arms. I am growing into a woman and I am loving it. I am becoming feminine day by day."

Gauri Arora further said, "There was a lot going inside me since my childhood but I didn't know whom to speak to. But, my parents have been a constant support. They are God to me. It was my Dad who took me to Bangkok. We went to Thailand. Only my Dad was there with me. It must have been difficult for him too to see his son transforming into a girl. I used to tell my dad that, 'Papa, it's really very painful, it's impossible'."

When asked if she will be comfortable wearing a bikini on the show, Gauri said, "My boyfriend and my dad have told me not to wear bikini because this is my first show as a woman and they don't want the world to think that I did all this just for this show."

Earlier, Gauri Arora told IANS, "This is the first time I walked down the ramp after my reconstruction surgery. I felt extremely beautiful. I was a tad apprehensive about the fact that I had to put on the bikini and walk down the ramp on 'India's Next Top Model' in front of seasoned judges like Milind Soman and Dabboo Ratnani. But that only boosted my zeal. It takes a lot of courage for one to accept the reality and come out in public. A lot of people out there already know about my struggle. I hope my stint with 'India's Next Top Model' gives courage to a lot of people out there who have not been able to come out."
