Bigg Boss 17: Former contestant Sumbul Touqeer's father to participate in Salman Khan's show? Here's what he has to say

Rumours are rife that Bigg Boss 16 contestant Sumbul Touqeer's father will be participating in the reality show's upcoming season

Just when Bigg Boss OTT 2 came to an end, the buzz around the television version of the reality show gained ground. Bigg Boss 17, hosted by Salman Khan, is expected to go on air on September 30. The makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding the premiere date and contestants. Amid several rumours, reports claim that Sumbul Touqeer's father, Touqeer Khan will be participating in this season.

He shot to fame as 'Papa Touqeer' when Sumbul was inside the Bigg Boss 16 house. Mr Khan would often be on the show to motivate his daughter. Amid rumours, India Forums spoke to him. Reacting to the rumours, he said, "I can't comment on anything right now." When asked whether he was approached for it, he shared, "Aag Lagi Hai To Dhua To Uthega."

Sumbul was one of the potential finalists. However, she was eliminated two weeks before the finale. The Imlie actress remained in the headlines for her bitter-sweet relationship with the housemates. Sumbul and Shalin Bhanot's equation was one of the highlights of her journey. Mr Khan would often connect with Sumbul to guide her through the game. This didn't go down well with many. 

After Bigg Boss 16, Sumbul purchased a new apartment. She lives with her father and sister. Recently, the actress brought home a new swanky car. In June this year, Sumbul's father remarried. His new wife and her child now live with the Khans. 

Reportedly, the theme for Bigg Boss 17 is said to be 'Couple Vs Single'. While there is no official confirmation from the makers, Twitter is abuzz with rumours and speculations. According to Filmibeat, Pandya Store's actors, Alice Kaushik and Kanwar Dhillon, are mostly confirmed for the reality show. They have been dating for quite a few years now. Reportedly Ramanand Sagar's great-granddaughter Sakshi Chopra has once again been approached for Bigg Boss in the 17th season. In the past, she was seen in the first season of Netflix's Social Currency with Parth Samthaan and others. The makers are yet to officially release the list of participants. 

Sumbul will be seen in the upcoming TV show, Kavya- Ek Jazbaa, Ek Junoon with Mishkat Varma and Anuj Sullere.
