Jay Bhanushali, the guy who ruled the television sets in the early 2000s, has entered the house of ‘Bigg Boss 15'. Interestingly, Jay is the first contestant to ever get a house tour from Salman Khan himself. The actor-turned-host, who started his career with 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', in 2005, is back to rule the screen once again with his appearance in the reality show. Well, the audience will surely get a glimpse of Jay until and unless he gets evicted from the game.

Claim to fame

After shooting to fame in Ekta Kapoor's K-drama back in the early 2000s, Jay signed up for multiple soap operas, in which he played a diverse set of characters. From 'Dhoom Machaao Dhoom' to 'Kairi — Rishta Khatta Meetha' Jay has been a part of multiple daily soaps. Ever since he signed Nach Baliye, with his Baliye Mahhi Vij, his journey as an actor took a major turn after winning the trophy back in 2012. After Nach Baliye 5, Jay went on showing off his strength in reality shows like Nach Baliye Shriman V/s Shrimati, Khatron Ke Khiladi 7, Kitchen Champion 5, Khatron Ke Khiladi - Made in India.

Jay has also been a host of many reality shows on television. He has hosted various seasons of shows like Dance India Dance, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Super Dancer and Indian Idol. Before entering the house, Jay completed the shoot of his digital debut 'Dhappa' opposite Smriti Khanna and Monalisa. In a media interaction, the actor spoke about his character, "Unlike a lot of us who live in big cities, those in smaller towns need to be extremely careful about how and when they express their love. I am part of a story bringing out this situation in a manner that will leave the viewers in splits."

Jay Bhanushali made his Bollywood debut in 2014 with Hate Story 2 where he played the role of Akshay Bedi.

Personal life

Jay Bhanushali married television actress Mahhi Vij in 2011. Together they have a daughter named Tara. The couple started fostering (sponsoring education and other facilities) a boy named Rajveer and a girl named Khushi before their first biological child Tara was born.

Controversies

According to reports, Jay Bhanushali's bold scenes with Surveen Chawla in Hate Story 2 did not go down well with his wife Mahhi Vij. Though the actress denied it, she confessed how difficult it is to work as an actor. Speaking about 'Hate Story 2' Jay had confessed how the film was not an erotic thriller.

During the shooting of Katroo, Jay reportedly got friendly with Parvathy Omanakuttan. Mahhi was seen upset media's presence. In fact, in one of the old interviews with mid-day, a source revealed, "She felt that her husband was getting too friendly with Parvathy and confronted him. That escalated into an expletive-laden exchange between the couple. Later, when Mahhi was asked why she wanted another room, she was overheard telling co-contestants about how Jay had behaved with her."
