Until six months ago, these two young boys were barely known outside their non-descript village in Jaisalmer. But Haanikaarak Bapu changed everything for them. Sartaj Khan (11) and Sarwar Khan (12), who lent their raw, rustic voice to arguably the most popular track in Aamir Khan-starrer 'Dangal' (2016), are now ready with their second song.
The duo has sung the title track of 'Gattu Battu', touted as India's first animated investigative series for children. In their words, the tunes are catchy with an element of fun, something that kids can relate to just the way they did with Haanikaarak Bapu. What makes it special for them is the fact that legendary lyricist Gulzar has written the song.
Calling the recording session "an amazing experience", Sartaj says, "I hope my friends and fans enjoy our new song. I am a big fan of detective shows and am looking forward to this investigative series."
Sarwar chips in saying, "I have watched a number of Nickelodeon shows, and Motu Patlu's title track is my favourite. It was an honour giving our voice to lyrics written by Gulzar uncle."
