How these TV stars are keeping their passion for singing alive

Given that they're part of popular telly shows, TV actors are household names. But acting isn't their only talent. Musically inclined stars, like Karan Singh Grover, Kapil Sharma and Vikas Bhalla, often find ways to keep their passion for singing alive.

Karan's wife Bipasha Basu seems to have brought out the singer in him. While he only sang her favourite songs initially, the actor now plans to take it up professionally. He has been training seriously, and has even crafted two new compositions to be shared with fans soon.

Besides stand-up comedy and acting, Kapil is also known for his singing skills. He has impressed the likes of Lata Mangeshkar and AR Rahman with his talent. Rahman had declared that if he had to choose an actor to record a track, he would work with Kapil. In an interview, the comic had said that he couldn't pursue a career in singing due to lack of resources.

Vikas Bhalla's single, Dhuan, was a rage in the '90s. After trying his hand at films, Bhalla dabbled in music and released three singles. However, he hasn't been in the limelight because he feels only film music thrives in India. "The Internet has made things easier. I plan to release a single every two months. I am working on a musical and will act in it as well," he says.

She discovered her singing
talent when TV director Rajan Shahi heard her humming on the set of Tere Sheher Mein and insisted that she record a track for the show. Hiba says, "I liked the idea although I am not trained. After one song, I wanted to hone my skills. I will train and do riyaaz before attempting playback."
