The incident occurred on August 2 when Mona, who plays the protagonist in a play which was showcased at St Andrews in Bandra, Mumbai, was waiting for an official photo-op of the team. However, a guy walked up to her and asked her to click a selfie with him. Mona, who doesn't click pictures with strangers, refused to oblige.
According to a source, "Mona was the last one to leave in her car from the parking area. Suddenly, the same guy overtook her vehicle and parked his vehicle in front of Mona's. A terrified Mona got out to confront him. He asked her for a picture again. More than asking for it, it was his demand."
The source further adds, "The final act of this guy was that he messaged Mona as if to show off that he has her phone number too. Mona, without wasting any time, blocked his number on WhatsApp. The driver suggested Mona to file a police complaint, but Mona was not sure of this idea as she did not know how that guy would react in future."
"Still unsure about what to do, Mona consulted a few of her friends. Eventually, Mona and her close friends decided to wait before filing a police complaint till he calls back or takes this act to a whole new level."
When contacted Mona, she said, "This incident took place last wee ie the 2nd of August. I am still a little shaken with this brazen act of defiance. But I have not let it affect me at all. I am absolutely game for selfies but selfies with strangers is a big no for me. Can't imagine that a man could go to this extent only for a selfie. I could have filed a complaint with the police but thought against it as I did not want to make matters worse."
