The Star Plus show is based on a love story and promises a different track of storytelling with music playing a major role in the plot.
The producer of the show Saurabh Tewari noted that they will not be picking up songs from movies, but dole out original compositions.
“'Phir Bhi Na Maane..Badtameez Dil' has a unique factor where music plays an integral role, besides being a love story, this is probably the first time a show will have original songs, with no music taken from movies etc. Its the story which revolves around a music studio,” said Tewari.
The soap opera, which was earlier titled "Ye Ishq Nahin Aasan", will have an album of 5 songs recorded exclusively for it. The songs have been sung by Darshan Rawal, the runner up of a singing reality show, "India's Raw star".
The story's male protagonist, Abeer Malhotra played by Pearl V. Puri is a musician, who composes songs and is inspired by late singer R.D Burman.
The female protagonist of the show will portray a girl who has seen a lot of struggle in life. Hailing from a middle class family and after eight years of hard work, comes back as an empowered girl.
“It is a story on a nerdy student who becomes an empowered girl, the young woman of today,” said actress Asmita Sood who plays the role of Meher Purohit, the female protagonist. Asmita is a Telugu film actress who will be seen in Hindi TV show for the first time
"For once I am doing something in my own language. Now that I am doing Hindi, I am much more comfortable,” Asmita added.
The actress promptly denied that the show is based on the Hollywood movie "The Breakfast Club".
The show will beam on June 29 on Star Plus.
