It is his love for cricket that drove actor Jimmy Sharma to be part of Ekta Kapoor and Anand Mishra's MTV BCL. The actor, who is playing for Ahmedabad Express says that he loves being part of the team. "Cricket is my passion and I love BCL because this is the only format where actors get to know each other and spend time together like a family, otherwise everyone is busy in their own work," he says, adding, "I am playing for Ahmedabad Express and some of my closest friends are playing in the same team. They were the ones who insisted that I should play too. Till now, we are doing great and have already won three matches in a row.
The actor says that it's not tough for him to take out time to practice. "It's a form of physical activity and helps keep you in shape. Also, since I love cricket, I don't mind at all," he says. In fact, Jimmy's association with cricket goes back to his childhood. "I love cricket. During my childhood, I used to play with my friends every Sunday morning. And I had my own personal cricket kit when I was in school," he says.
Talking about his favourite cricketer, Jimmy says, "Sachin Tendulkar is my favourite. I have seen him playing since childhood and he is a great inspiration for everyone." Ask him what his main aim in the tournament would be, and he says, "My task would be to give my 100 percent performance and make sure that my team wins every single match. According to me, Delhi Dragons is our biggest rival. Our batsmen have to be focused towards different bowlers."
The fact that BCL will be aired on MTV this time was another source of motivation for Jimmy. "It's really great that this time it's telecasting on MTV. Most of the shows on MTV are reality-based and have a large number of youth viewers, so BCL is going to rock this time," he says. The actor has also been making sure to avoid any kind of injury so that he can play the matches well. "I am doing freehand workout and cardio these days and am avoiding heavy weights workout," he says.
Jimmy says that it's great to be associated with Anand Mishra and Marinating Films. "Anand Mishra is really dedicated and he often visits the practice sessions. I must congratulate him in being successful in bringing this great format of BCL where we all actors get to know each other well," he says.
