Dulquer Salmaan shares a strong bond with his father Mammootty, but he is not dependent on him for his films. Earlier in an interview with IANS, Dulquer said, "My dad doesn't give me too much feedback after watching my movies."

Dulquer Salmaan enjoys immense popularity among women. But do you know he is one of the few stars to have a women's fan association, All Kerala Dulquer Salmaan Fans And Welfare Association? When asked about the same, he told mid-day, "The fans are sweet. They are there on the set, at events and even follow me to my car. But I do not think too much about it."
Dulquer Salmaan is one of the few actors whose films have been remade in several languages. For instance, 'O Kadhal Kanmani' got remade in Hindi as 'OK Jaanu', 'Charlie' in Marathi and now there are talks of his 'Ustaad Hotel' and 'Bangalore Days' being remade in Hindi.

But Dulquer doesn't believe in starring in remakes, in fact, he is keen on doing original films. "My big desire is to do original content. I get really excited when my film is being remade. I feel like we found a very special film. I wouldn't want to do a remake because firstly, we are making a remake because it's very special, and everybody thinks that story needs to go much wider and farther… But the problem with this might be that the original might be such a class and a wonderful film. No matter what you do, comparisons will keep happening," said Dulquer in an exclusive interview with mid-day.
On the personal front, Dulquer Salmaan married Amal Sufiya, who is an architect by profession, in 2011. In fact, Dulquer is one of the few actors, who set foot in the film industry after marriage! When asked how does his wife cope with all his female fan following, Dulquer said, "There is nothing there that is threatening or embarrassing. It's all very sweet and harmless. No one has suddenly landed up at my home threatening to break my door down."
Dulquer Salmaan and Amal Sufiya were blessed with a daughter in 2017. They named her Maryam Ameerah Salmaan.
Talking about how he balances his personal and professional life, Dulquer was quoted saying, "I will balance my South commitments with my Bollywood outings, but I want to work at my own pace. Dad always used to be busy with his commitments. So, I am actively trying to find that balance between work and home. Of late, I haven't been able to spend enough time with Maryam, who has just learnt to talk."
A cute snap of Dulquer with his little one Maryam and actor Jacob Gregory! Dulquer shared this photo on Instagram on Jacob's birthday and wrote, "Hathabudday uncle Gegg" !! Thank you for just being you! For all the roles you play in my family! My favourite being Mayyam baby's Uncle Gegg! Have the bestest birthday ever and hope this year is better than ever!
Dulquer Salmaan was being lauded for playing a man who initially gives up his passion for his father's wish in his Bollywood debut Karwaan. And, later, he was seen in another Hindi movie - The Zoya Factor, co-starring Sonam Kapoor, Angad Bedi, Sanjay Kapoor, among others.
As far as his social media fans are concerned, Dulquer Salmaan's Instagram family is simply growing, now all set to touch the six million mark.
Here's wishing a very happy birthday to Dulquer Salmaan!
In picture: Dulquer shared this image with his wife on her birthday and captioned it: I know this is a day late but still! Wishing my dearest Am the happiest of birthdays! It's a big birthday this year and I love seeing how much you've grown since we first met. From a fresh college grad to a young wife to a new mother. You sacrificed and endured so much to give me the biggest gift of my life. And no matter what, I can never do half of what you do on a daily basis from when we knew we were having M. You inspire me to become better and are the voice in my head even if I'm a lost boy who doesn't want to grow up. But no matter how lost or juvenile I am, there's no one I'd rather grow old with than you Amaal Salmaan. You're the love of my life and the mother of my child. I love how that sounds and say it in my head every time we have a fight! Ok this is turning into some open love letter. Happy birthday baby"
