Prabhat Roy admitted to the hospital due to shortness of breath
In recent news, Mr Prabhat Roy, aged 79, was admitted to Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital on February 19, 2024, due to shortness of breath, fluid accumulation in the chest, chest infection, and high creatinine levels. Following initial treatment, he underwent dialysis on Wednesday and is currently in stable condition. A team of doctors is closely monitoring his health, including specialists in interventional cardiology, nephrology, critical care, and general medicine.
A statement from the hospital read, "A team of doctors comprising Dr Suresh Choraria (interventional cardiologist). Dr Jayanta Basu (nephrologist), Or Susmita Debnath (critical care) and Or Prasun Mitra (general medicine) is keeping a close watch on his heath status."

Prabhat Roy's wife passed away due septic issues
Sadly, Prabhat Roy's wife passed away in 2022 after being bedridden for six months due to a leg fracture. Despite the use of internal metal plate fixation for the fracture, complications arose, leading to septic issues. Her health deteriorated over the last few months, necessitating multiple hospital admissions. Prabhat Roy shared that his wife, Jayashree, was in significant pain during her final days, and she passed away on Thursday.
The last rites were conducted in the presence of Prabhat Roy's family and close associates. The film industry has expressed condolences to the veteran filmmaker and his family.
