As the tempo to E-2009 builds up, actors and directors in the Kannada film industry sign up for the action

Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, director

I believe that every Indian who is above 18 years has a responsibility to vote. I have organised awareness camps for first-time voters in and around Mandya. I like Ambarish, who is the Congress candidate from Mandya, because of his good nature, but his supporters, especially those in his inner circle, are worthless. They do not give him the right kind of advice. When he was MP he did not raise a single question on the floor of the House. That is a real tragedy. He should become a good leader. As film personalities, we have an additional responsibility: we should encourage people to vote.

Lead actors and supporting stars
>>C P Yogeshwar, hero of two big budget films, is contesting from Bangalore Rural on a BJP ticket
>>Producer C R Manohar is contesting from Chikballapur as a JDS candidate
>>Actors Jaggesh, Shruti, Tara , Saikumar are campaigning for BJP
>>Veteran actor Ashok is contesting from Tumkur on a BSP ticket

B C Patil, actor
I will be campaigning for the Congress party in Haveri because I think it is a secular party. I will not indulge in gimmicks to woo voters because I think the voter is intelligent.u00a0

Ramya, actress
Basically, I am not interested in politics but Ambarish requested me to canvas for him. My mom is a Congress party worker, so I am going to be a part of the campaign. I have a lot of respect for Ambarish, so I will be canvassing for him. Truth be told, I am more excited about my film Jothegara, which is due for release next month.
