Mani Ratnam was rushed to a hospital in Chennai on Thursday after he complained of severe chest pain. The veteran filmmaker is said to be under observation. Ratnam recently wrapped up the Tamil film, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which stars Arvind Swamy and Vijay Sethupathi.

Altough the hospital clarified that Ratnam visited the hospital for a check-up but is in fine condition.
"He had come to the hospital for a check-up. His condition is fine. He has not been admitted," the hospital official told IANS.
Ratnam had complained of chest pain, the official added.
