According to sources, Fayaz has direct links with Chhota Shakeel which the Mumbai crime branch is currently probing.
The accused later received the remaining R . . lakhs for helping Lakdawala by sending the extortion amount. Earlier, the crime branch also arrested one Saleem Maharaj alias Saleem Dadhi who used to provide numbers of builders and businessmen from the city to Lakdawala. The gangster Ejaz Lakdawala was arrested on u0004 anuary . from Patna after escaping for more than two decades.
