Set to air on Sky Atlantic in early 2017, the six-part show is "about how desperate a person's actions can become when a lie starts to spiral out of control", reported Digital Spy.
Produced by British production company King Bert, which was founded by producer Jo Sargent ('Absolutely Fabulous') and comedy writers and performers David Walliams and Miranda Hart, the show is created and written by Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz. Matt Lipsey will direct the show.
The series follows Daniel Glass (Grint), "a compulsive liar, who's stuck in a failing relationship and a dead end job, where he is under the thumb of his irrepressible boss Kenny West (Don Johnson)," according to a plot description.
Said Zai Bennett, director of Sky Atlantic: "We're delighted to welcome the stellar cast of Rupert Grint, Nick Frost and Don Johnson to Sky Atlantic in this smart new original comedy. They join a high-end stable of US hits like Veep and Silicon Valley alongside great original comedy from the likes of Julia Davis and Steve Coogan."
Principal photography is underway.
