Freida Pinto and Cory Tran are all set to embrace parenthood. Earlier this year in June, the actress posted some pictures on her Instagram account and flaunted her baby bump, announcing her pregnancy. She has now revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show that she secretly got married to her fiancé as she didn’t want a big fat wedding.

When the host asked her about her wedding plans, here was her reply, "Oh excellent. We're already married!"

“I wasn't planning a big fat Indian wedding. It was just going to be something pretty and simple... But then COVID happened and it's still happening and we just realised we were going to be planning this for the rest of our lives and probably never doing it,” added the actress.

She also revealed that the couple went to Honda Center in Anaheim, California, to get married. “Honestly, I have to say if any of you have planned a wedding, you probably know this, I do not want stomach ulcers from planning my own wedding. This was perfect! We got married and then we got to go home and take an afternoon nap," she quipped.

Pinto feels there was a time when the world ridiculed Indians for speaking so many languages and celebrating so many festivals. The actress says the world needs to imbibe the ethos of Indian culture in this "dark time". The actress is excited about her new animated show 'Mira, Royal Detective', weaved around with Indian culture and traditions. She feels people will be amazed to look at the myriad colours and diversity of India.

"I think the first thing is that the world is going to be absolutely enthralled by the fact that there are so many languages and festivals that we celebrate," Freida told IANS in an interview last year.

"We, in the past, have been ridiculed for speaking so many languages and celebrating so many festivals. Now, they are going to see the beauty of these and then realise what they are missing on. They will want to celebrate a few of them here in America and I think they rightfully should, similar to celebrating Christmas, Easter or any other festival," she added.
