American singer-songwriter Toby Keith, best known for his classics 'Red Solo Cup' and 'Should Have Been a Cowboy,' has died, People reported. He was 62. The singer-songwriter passed peacefully on Monday night, according to his family, which released a statement on X.

Keith was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2022. "Toby Keith passed peacefully last night on February 5 surrounded by his family, the statement read. "He fought his fight with grace and courage."

"Please respect the privacy of his family at this time," the message said. Keith announced his cancer diagnosis during the People's Choice Country Awards in September 2023, as per People.

The late singer told E! News at the time that his cancer battle is "a little bit of a roller coaster." You have good days and you're up and down." "It's always zero to 60 and 60 to zero but I feel good today," he said on the red carpet where he was joined by his wife of nearly 40 years, Tricia Lucus.
