Willem Dafoe is in negotiations to star in the thriller "The Lighthouse". If finalised, "The Florida Project" star will play the role of an ageing lighthouse keeper in Nova Scotia in a story set in the early 20th Century.
The film will be directed by Robert Eggers, who has also penned the script, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Rodrigo Teixeira of "Call Me By Your Name" fame is producing through his RT Features banner with Jan Van Hoy. Dafoe had recently joined the cast of the film "Motherless Brooklyn", which also features Edward Norton. He is also nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "The Florida Project".
