This film, a sequel, based on the best-selling series of children’s stories by British author Michael Bond, takes you on a far-reaching adventure. Paddington (Ben Whishaw), happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, is now searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy in Peru, for her 100th birthday. After finding the most suitable gift - a unique pop-up book in Mr Gruber’s (Jim Broadbent) antique shop, he embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But the book gets stolen, and it’s now up to Paddington to unmask the thief.
King paces this entertainer perfectly and makes it a joke-filled joy ride that transports you to Paddington’s unique world. Paddington is presented as a loving, cuddly, decent soul who makes the world a better place just by being in it.

This sequel is far more accomplished than the previous edition. A vivid imagination and wit are the highlights of this experience. There’s political correctness in showing this West London residing Peruvian Bear as a migrant, who takes on odd jobs like barbering and window cleaning, all the while displaying a Chaplinesque relish in being sloppy. The talent assembled behind and in front of the camera is largely the same as in the first. There is plentiful room for coincidences, mysteries, and intrigue, which leads to a highly satisfying climax, one that children are bound to be tickled and entertained by.
