Lohan has followed in the footsteps of celebrities like reality TV star Kim Kardashian and rocker Pete Wentz.
Contactmusic.com reports that she will shoot a new advert urging people not to bully gays.
Lohan took the decision to join the campaign after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill to legalise gay unions in the state.
After the announcement, she posted on her Twitter page: "Proud to be From NY! Nice work to Gov. Andrew Cuomo."
