Gwendoline Christie was keen to be part of the Star Wars franchise since she first saw Carrie Fisher play Princess Leia at the age of six. The actor, who reprises her role as Captain Phasma in The Last Jedi, said she was overjoyed when she was cast in the film. It was a childhood dream come true. "I still remember the moment I was cast as Captain Phasma in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It was unbelievable," says the actor, who shot to fame as Brienne of Tarth in Game Of Thrones.
