Hollywood actor Bill Paxton, known for his roles in 'Aliens', 'Titanic' and 'Twister' among others, passed away at the age of 61 on Saturday.
The actor died following complications from surgery, according to a report in TMZ.
Bill Paxton's family said in a statement to TMZ, "It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery."
They added that he had an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker.
The statement further read, "Bill's passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable."
Bill Paxton is survived by his wife Louise Newbury and two children.
Bill Paxton also starred in movies 'The Terminator', 'Predator 2', 'True Lies' and 'Apollo 13', among others. His recent films include 'Nightcrawler', 'Million Dollar Arm' and 'Edge of Tomorrow'. His last film appearance will be in 'The Circle' alongside Emma Watson and Tom Hanks.
