Actress Emma Watson says the story of Beauty and the Beast is "unapologetically romantic" and working on the film made her feel full of emotion.

The 26-year-old actress plays the role of Belle in the re-make of the 1991 Disney animation. "Pure joy this film, it’s unapologetically romantic and sometimes we need that. Particularly now we need that. You come out fuller than when you went in," Watson said.

The actress said it was fun playing the iconic Disney princess. "I feel like even in the original, Belle was very progressive. She was kind of a departure from the other princess characters and so it was fun to pad out her backstory," she said.
