Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie's ambitious directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey has become one of the first films to be picked up from the market at Cannes Film Festival.
The 37-year-old actress' debut film has been picked up by Oscar-winning movie mogul Graham King's production company, reported Contactmusic.
The film, a love story set in the background of the Bosnian civil war, had ran into trouble after officials in the East European country revoked permission to shoot.
The authorities took the decision after a women war victims group complained about the film, which according to the Bosnian press is a love story between a Muslim victim and her rapist, a Serb.
The Academy award-winning actress then decided to shoot the film in Hungary. In the Land of Blood and Honey will now open at Christmas this year in the US prior to a worldwide release.
