Alec Baldwin threatens to quit showbiz following gay slur row

Alec Baldwin has threatened to quit showbiz after being suspended from his talk show for hurling a homophobic slur at a photographer.

The 55-year-old actor said if quitting the TV business, the movie business, the theater, any component of entertainment is necessary in order to bring safety and peace to his family, then its an easy choice, the Huffington Post reported.

‘The Cooler’ star said that this country’s obsession with the private lives of famous people is tragic, it is so clearly a projection of their frustration about their government, economy and their own spiritual bankruptcy.

The rant came after his MSNBC talk show ‘Up Late With Alec Baldwin’ was suspended after his anti-gay rant, but later he also apologised for the comments, labelling them offensive and unacceptable.
