On the occasion of Indian freedom fighter and reformer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s 141st birth anniversary, actor Randeep Hooda visited the Cellular Jail in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on May 27. Randeep Hooda who wore the hat of Savarkar in his biopic ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ gave insights about his research and the connection he shared with him during the making of his film. On his visit, Randeep said, “Today we have come here to the Cellular Jail where Vinayak ji was sentenced to 50 years of life imprisonment...All the strong revolutionary people were kept in isolation by the British away from the country and this is the place. I have raised a few questions about him, it’s up to audience now to decide whether he should be called ‘veer’ or not. It is high time he gets his due...”
