Shravan Rathod of the popular Nadeem-Shravan duo. Shravan breathed his last in Mumbai around 9.30 pm on April 22. The renowned composer succumbed to COVID-19. He was known for his melodious and memorable music and gave classics like Aashiqui, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Deewana, Saajan, Raja Hindustani, Dhadkan, Ek Rishta, and Andaaz. One of his last pieces of work was the 2009 David Dhawan directorial Do Knot Disturb.
Amit Mistry passed away on April 23 following a cardiac arrest. He was in his mid-forties. The actor did memorable roles in films such as Kya Kehna, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, 99, Shor In The City, Yamla Pagla Deewana, A Gentleman and the Amazon Prime series Bandish Bandits. He has also done a lot of TV shows like Shubh Mangal Savadhan, Saat Phero Ki Hera Pherie, Tenali Rama, Maddam Sir, and Yeh Duniya Hai Rangeen, among others. He was last seen in the film Bhoot Police. Mistry's colleagues took to social media to share their condolences.
Veteran actor Anupam Shyam, who was known for his role in multiple television shows and films, passed away on August 8. He was 63. The actor, who was more recently known for his role of Thakur Sajjan Singh in the show "Mann Ki Pratigya 2" died due to multiple organ failure. In 2020, the actor was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and had started his dialysis. Cine And TV Artists Associated (CINTAA) had appealed on behalf of the actor to provide financial help. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced Rs 20 lakh assistance for the treatment of the actor. Bollywood actor Sonu Sood had also come forward for help.

Filmmaker Raj Kaushal, who directed movies like 'Shaadi Ka Laddoo and 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi', passed away on June 30 following a heart attack, family friend and actor Rohit Roy said. He was in his 50s. Kaushal was married to actor-TV presenter Mandira Bedi. The couple has two children, son Vir and daughter Tara. For the uninitiated, Mandira and Raj adopted Tara during the first wave of a pandemic outbreak. The duo was excited to share the news when their younger daughter accepted them as a family.
National Award-winning actress Surekha Sikri passed away on July 16. The veteran actor died at the age of 75 following a cardiac arrest, her agent told PTI. In a statement shared with the media, the agent said the actor had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke. Sikri was born in Uttar Pradesh. Her father was in the Air Force and her mother was a teacher. She graduated from the National School of Drama (NSD) in 1971. A career that was across mediums -- theatre, films and television, she made her debut with the 1978 political drama film 'Kissa Kursi Ka'. She is best known for her performances in 'Tamas', 'Mammo', 'Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro', 'Zubeidaa', 'Badhaai Ho' and daily soap 'Balika Vadhu'. She won the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1989.
