Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham's latest action entertainer 'Pathaan' has zoomed past the fabled Rs 1,000 crore gross worldwide becoming the first Hindi film to breach this milestone in phase one of its release. In 2005, Ram Gopal Varma paid tribute to Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather (1972) by making the gritty crime thriller, Sarkar, led by Amitabh Bachchan. The subsequent two instalments — Sarkar Raj (2008) and Sarkar 3 (2017) — may not have made much impact, but the franchise gave Hindi cinema a formidable figure in Subhash Nagre. Almost six years since the last instalment, Bachchan is ready to reprise his role as the politician, who rules with an iron fist, in the fourth edition. ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ is the latest 90s Bollywood song to get caught in the wave of remakes and remixes. This time the song has been reworked for Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi-starrer ‘Selfiee’. Akshay Kumar who was a part of the original is seen reprising the original choreography along with his new co-star Emraan Hashmi. The song also features Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty. While speaking exclusively to Mid-Day, Abhijeet revealed that in most of his concerts, the demand for ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ tops the list. “At my recent concert in Agra, I had to sing the song thrice. A few days back, I was in Benaras, and people wanted to listen to that song. People have been talking about this song everywhere. Salman Khan went missing from the big screen all of last year, single-mindedly focusing on his next, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. It is known that the actor-producer is sparing no expense to ensure that his Eid release matches the expectations of his fans. So much so that he even re-shot a song in entirety to make it visually grand. Now, we hear that Khan has edited the Farhad Samji-directed movie and is ready with the first cut, which will serve as the template for the film’s editor Bunty Negi. The superstar wrapped up the shoot of the film on February 8. Since then, Khan has been relentlessly working on the first cut. A source reveals, “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is Salman’s passion project. With the movie slated to hit the marquee on Eid (April 21), he did the first round of editing at a breakneck speed at his brother Sohail Khan’s studio in Bandra.
