While there were rumours of Ranbir Kapoor playing Sourav Ganguly in the former cricketer's biopic, the two got together for a friendly cricket match at Eden Gardens
The two celebrities lead two teams for the friendly match. Ranbir's Makkaar XI was seen in black while Dada's Jhoothi XI was seen dressed in white for the match. Post match, Ranbir and Sourav also interacted and posed for the paparazzi
While we are not sure which team won the match, seeing the duo play together had fans wondering if Ranbir will be seen in the Ganguly biopic
After the match, Ranbir also interacted with the media in Kolkata. Among other questions, he was also asked about the rumoured Sourav Ganguly biopic. "I think dada (Sourav Ganguly) is a living legend not just in India, around the world. A biopic on him will be very special. Unfortunately, mujhe yeh film offer nahi huyi hai (I have not been offered this film). I think the makers of Luv films are still writing the script," he said
However, Ranbir Kapoor did reveal that he has been working on the Kishore Kumar biopic. "Main 11 saal se Kishore Kumar ke biopic pe kaam kar raha hoon (I have been working on Kishore Kumar's biopic for 11 years). We have been writing that with Anurag Basu and I'm hoping that it's gonna be my next biopic. But maine abhi tak dada k upar jo biopic ban rahi hai uske baare mein kuch suna nahi hai (But so far I haven't heard anything about the biopic being made on dada). So, I don't know," Ranbir added.
Ranbir's 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' is scheduled to hit the theatres on March 8. This is the first time that Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor will be seen sharing screen. The film has been directed by Luv Ranjan and also marks the first for the trio of working with each other. Luv Ranjan is known for the 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' franchise and 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety'
