Waluscha De Sousa performed a special Lavani number in the Salman Khan, Aayush Sharma and Mahima Makwana starrer Antim. Speaking to mid-day. com the actress said, "Every Goan has song and dance in their blood, we are all about that! This opportunity presented itself and the only thing is I couldn’t see myself as a Maharashtrian."
Waluscha De Sousa added, "With Mahesh (Manjrekar), a costal connect there, he believed I could pass off as Maharashtrian and would be able to pick up this very difficult dance form. Thankfully my years of training in Bharatanatyam came of some use. I’m excited and happy with the response we are getting. It’s a dying form of art and Mahesh sir wanted to revive that through this film and people to talk about it, let it live on."
Waluscha De Sousa also revealed, “It is a very difficult dance form, you need to catch every beat, you can’t leave any. I was fortunate to have a great team working with me, there’s Kruti Mahesh the choreographer who has worked closely with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, having worked on songs like ‘Pinga’ from Bajirao Mastani. To have her on board where she could help me with my expressions, the way I emoted to being there with me. We had three days to rehearse and learn this form of dance. What one generally does in three-four months we had to do in three days.”
During the pandemic, Waluscha De Sousa's first attempt at painting was a portrait. The Fan (2016) actor titled it Us to represent 2020 as the year that brought everyone together to fight the odds. The image looks similar to Salman Khan's artworks. De Sousa spent lockdown at the superstar's Panvel farmhouse. Did Sallu inspire her to pick up a brush and double up as her art teacher as well?
On the professional front, the actress was last seen in Crackdown. The show marks the digital debut of director Apoorva Lakhia, and features Saqib Salim, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Iqbal Khan, Waluscha De Sousa, Rajesh Tailang, and Ankur Bhatia. Crackdown was an action-fuelled show that followed a covert operations wing that tried to uncover a conspiracy that threatened national security. In the process, they found an ally in a girl whose identity remains a mystery
The show was incredibly well-received by critics and audiences alike, receiving high praises for its stellar performances and taut plotline. Waluscha's depiction of the fierce and feisty Garima Kalra was spectacular and caught the attention of viewers and reviewers
