Drashti Dhami started off as a dance instructor, before entering the glam world. She has appeared in many pop music videos in the early 2000s like Saiyyan Dil Mein Aana Re, Humko Aaj Kal Hai, Teri Meri Nazar Ki Dori, and Nachle Soniyo Tu.
In 2007, Drashti Dhami gained instant popularity for her role as Dr. Muskaan in the TV show Dill Mill Gayye. Though she had a minimal role in the show, her performance was liked by one and all.
Drashti Dhami bagged her first major project in 2010 with TV series Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi. The show had become quite popular thanks to the lead actors - Gurmeet Choudhary and Drashti's chemistry.
After Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi, Drashti Dhami featured alongside Vivian D'Sena in Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.
Though the show was not based on late actress Madhubala, contrary to rumours then, Drashti had revealed that she is a fan of Madhubala, who ruled the Hindi film industry in the 1950s and 1960S with her grace and charm. 'I think she was a diva, an epitome of beauty. I don't think I can ever be remotely compared with her. I don't think there's anyone as beautiful as her in the industry. If and when people see the show, they will realise, it's not about her, so there shouldn't be any comparisons,' she said.
Not many know that Drashti Dhami was approached by the makers of the reality show Bigg Boss and even Singham Returns. Though she turned down both the offers.
The fit and fab actress practices yoga regularly and also includes dancing as part of her fitness regimen. She had even participated in the sixth season of the popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and emerged as the season's winner too.
In 2015, Drashti Dhami featured in period drama Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, opposite Siddhant Karnick. Set against the backdrop of the Indian royalty of the 1940s, the show was a classic saga of love that explored the dynamics of all that transpired behind the four walls of imperial palaces.
Drashti Dhami said for her, the only challenging aspect to be a part of a period show was to master the Hindi dialect of the 1940s. 'I found it difficult to speak in the dialect which people spoke at that time. That was challenging. Other than that, I did not have any issues with the role,' she said.
After Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, Drashti Dhami featured in Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil (2018) opposite Arjun Bijlani. However, that was the last show that Drashti was seen in. The actress has been out of action ever since.
On the personal front, Drashti Dhami got married to businessman Neeraj Khemka on February 21, 2015. The couple dated for many years, however, Drashti wanted to marry Neeraj only after attaining success in her career.
Drashti Dhami had said in an interview that her husband Neeraj Khemka and family is quite supportive of her career and cited 'Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon' was her hubby's favourite show starring her.
The TV actress is away from the limelight for quite some time now. Perhaps, she seems to be living life to the fullest and truly enjoying her married phase.
