Born on March 28, 1976, Chitrangda Singh hails from Rajasthan. Her father, Col. Niranjan Singh, is an ex-Indian Army officer, and her brother Digvijay Singh Chahal is a golfer. Chitrangda Singh pursued a career in modelling in 1994 and that paved the road to her entry into the glamour industry. Very few are aware that Chitrangda did modelling projects with a popular bank and various popular jewellery brands.
Chitrangda Singh is golfer Digvijay Singh's sister. Coincidently, the actress was once married to another golfer, Jyoti Randhawa in 2001.
Chitrangda made her acclaimed debut with Sudhir Mishra's Hazaron Khwahishein Aisi in 2003 that brought her into the limelight. However, post that, the actress took a sabbatical of two years.
In 2005, Chitrangda Singh returned to cinema with the film Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow. This too had Shiney Ahuja as he co-star.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Chitrangda made a full-blown commercial film, Desi Boyz (2011) in which she starred alongside Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone. She also starred in Yeh Saali Zindagi, alongside Irrfan Khan and later did I, Me Aur Main, a ravishing special number in Akshay's Joker, a strong character in Inkaar. Basically, she was totally back in the business.
Chitrangada Singh and Jyoti Randhawa separated in 2013 and in 2014, the couple were divorced.
Chitrangda and Jyoti Randhawa have a son named Zorawar. His custody has been granted to the actress.
In 2015, Chitrangda Singh made headlines with her sensuous song 'Aao Raja' from the Akshay Kumar film 'Gabbar Is Back' and acquired a massive fan following.
2018 was a big year for Chitrangda Singh as she turned producer with the critically acclaimed sports biopic, Soorma, which starred Diljit Dosanjh in the role of hockey player Sandeep Singh.
In 2018, Chitrangda also starred in two films. She was opposite Sanjay Dutt in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 and Saif Ali Khan in Baazaar respectively.
In 2020, Chitrangada Singh made a cameo appearance in the Nawazuddin Siddiqui comedy film Ghoomketu.
In 2021, Chitrangada Singh starred in the Kahaani spin-off film 'Bob Biswas' where Abhishek Bachchan played the title role. Chitrangada's role as Abhishek's wife was well received by critics and the fans.
While Chitrangda is a remarkable actress, she is still waiting for that one magnum opus that will help her make carve a niche for herself in the industry. Nonetheless, she remains one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood.
