Singing legend Lata Mangeshkar, who enthralled millions with her divine voice for eight decades, was cremated with full state honours in Mumbai on Sunday.

Hridaynath Mangeshkar was inconsolable as he performed the last rites. The mortal remains of Lata Mangeshkar, draped in the national flag, were taken in a truck from her residence Prabhu Kunj in south Mumbai to Shivaji Park for the last rites.
A large number of people thronged the roads from where the cortege passed as the melody queen embarked on her final journey. After the funeral, Adinath Mangeshkar, Lataji's nephew, collected her ashes from Shivaji Park on Monday morning.
In her lifetime, Lata Mangeshkar, who was regarded as the Nightingale of India, was awarded with Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour, as well as the Padma Bhushan, the Padma Vibhushan and the Dada Saheb Phalke Award.
Fans of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, who visited the Shivaji Park ground in central Mumbai, paid their last respects to the music legend.
