The showbiz world is still coming to terms with the news of Sanjay Dutt being diagnosed with lung cancer. On August 8, the actor was admitted to the hospital when he complained of breathlessness and had also tested negative for COVID-19. And later, he was diagnosed with Cancer. On August 11, Sanjay Dutt tweeted "I am taking a short break from work for some medical treatment. My family and friends are with me and I urge my well wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!" (sic) Ever since then, his fans and well-wishers have been praying for the actor's health.
Sanjay Dutt's wife Maanayata Dutt released a statement and said that she's confident that this too shall paas. She stated, "I thank everyone who has expressed their well wishes for Sanju's speedy recovery. We need all the strength and prayers to overcome this phase. There is a lot that the family has gone through in the past years but I am confident, this too shall pass."
Maanayata Dutt further added, "However, it is my heartfelt request to Sanju's fans to not fall prey to speculations and unwarranted rumours, but to just help us with their ongoing love, warmth and support. Sanju has always been a fighter, and so has our family. God has yet again chosen to test us to overcome the challenges ahead. All we seek is your prayers and blessings, and we know we will emerge as winners on the other side, as we always have. Let us use this opportunity to spread light and positivity."

On the work front, Dutt plans to wrap up the dubbing work of his upcoming film, Sadak 2. He will complete the last leg of dubbing for his film Sadak 2 by this week. "He is overwhelmed with the outpouring of love coming his way ever since the news of his illness came out. This support is motivating him even more to give his fans his best through his work," said a source close to the actor and movie.
While Maanyata is Dubai with kids Shahraan and Iqra, sister Priya Dutt accompanied Sanjay Dutt to the hospital in Bandra. There are reports that Sanjay Dutt will get admitted to the cancer centre where his late mother Nargis Dutt had sought treatment.
Sanjay Dutt is most likely to be admitted to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. His late mother, Nargis Dutt, too had sought treatment there. Meanwhile, the travel logistics are also being worked out, considering the pandemic and long-haul flight. Sanjay Dutt's family and friends are rallying to provide the required assistance.
