Actor Yashpal Sharma, who has played memorable roles in movies such as Lagaan, Gangaajal, Ab Tak Chhappan, Apaharan, Lakshyam, Singh Is Kinng, Aarakshan and Rowdy Rathore, is currently seen in the film Van Rakshak. The movie is a story inspired by a true incident. Directed by Pawan Kumar Sharma, it is currently streaming in ShemarooMe and stars Aditya Shrivastava, Falak Khan, Dhirendra Thakur and Rajesh Jais.

Shedding light on his character in the film, Sharma said, "My name in this film is Dogra. He is a District Forest Officer (DFO). Dogra is very honest. He plays an important role in boosting up the spirit of the main protagonist. He is also angry at the government because they are approving many projects and allowing constructions that are damaging the environment. So he is against it because he knows the consequence of this mishap of greed."

"The subject of this film has attracted me the most. I love to do films on social issues. I have worked with Pawan ji earlier with Brina (Himachal's first film based on the subject of Polyandry) and Karim Mohammed. His speciality is that he picks social issue. Van Rakshak is based on the issue of development at the cost of nature. The major global crisis we are going through today is environmental. The current pandemic and lack of oxygen is proof enough. So the subject of the film attracted me to do this project," said Sharma.

He further adds, "When I saw the film, I was startled. I extended heartfelt gratitude to the entire team. The film is released on the OTT platform and I would want you all to watch it and also give your utmost contribution to protect our environment and respect its value."
