It was certainly not music to the ears when Juhi Chawla’s fans started singing her chartbusters during the online hearing of her case against the implementation of the 5G wireless network. On Wednesday, the hearing before the Delhi High Court got disrupted after the actor-turned-environmentalist shared the link of the proceedings, inviting people to join in. Juhi Chawla herself on her Twitter account last evening had shared the link for joining the proceedings. She had tweeted "if you do think this concerns you in anyway, feel free to join our first virtual hearing conducted at Delhi High Court to be held on June 2, 10.45 am onwards".

One of her admirers started crooning 'Ghoonghat ki aad se' from 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke' (1993). Later, someone sang 'Lal lal honthon pe' from 'Naajayaz' (1995), and another belted out 'Banno ki aayegi baarat' from 'Aaina' (1993). In her plea, Chawla stated that “the radiation from 5G will be harmful to the health of the people.” Seeing the singing session, Chawla’s lawyer reportedly quipped, “Maybe people are already affected by 4G!”

The action of the man resulted in the periodic interruption of hearing and on the judge's directions, the person was repeatedly removed from the hearing, but he kept on joining and started singing till the time the proceedings were locked. Justice J R Midha asked the court master to lock the proceedings and to contact Delhi Police and ask them to identify the person so that a contempt notice could be issued against him for his conduct.

The Delhi HC termed as “defective” the suit of actress-environmentalist Juhi Chawla against setting up of 5G wireless networks in the country and said it was filed for “media publicity.” The court also questioned Chawla for filing the suit without giving any representation to the government on her concerns related to the technology.
