Vishal Bhardwaj’s son Aasmaan may be giving wings to his ideas as a storyteller with Kuttey, but he is advantaged by the powerful line-up of maestro-musicians working on enhancing his offering. With father Vishal taking charge as composer, Gulzar looking over the lyrics, and mother Rekha rendering her commanding voice to select songs, the young director has a major chunk of his work taken care of. In a bid to do justice to the league of musicians backing the film, the makers have organised a musical evening for the unveiling of the songs of the Tabu and Arjun Kapoor starrer.

A sea-facing Juhu venue will be decorated with lights, candles, and fresh flowers, to set the mood for the evening. While two numbers, Phir dan te dan and Awaara dogs, have been released, Gulzar will apparently launch the remaining songs.

A source says, “After Maachis, Vishal has considered Gulzar saab his mentor. Gulzar saab is also fond of the Bhardwajs, so, it is only fitting that he unveil the music of Aasmaan’s first film.” The source adds that Gulzar will also recite a few poems on stage during the event, which will also see performances by Rekha and Vishal. “Other musicians, like Vishal Dadlani, who has sung in the movie, will also perform at the do.” At the January 10 event, Kapoor, and cast-members Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Radhika Madan, Konkona Sensharma, Kumud Mishra, and Shardul Bhardwaj will also be present.
