Twitter goes into overdrive 'body-shaming' Fardeen Khan

Twitterverse divided over Fardeen Khan's recent weight gain, with some trolls making fun of the Bollywood star and others defending him and slamming the 'body-shaming' movement

Fardeen Khan has been missing in action (MIA) for quite a while. In fact his last release was the 2010 flop 'Dulha Mil Gaya'.


So when Twitter went into overdrive and the actor started trending it raised a few eyebrows. Then it became apparent that the twitterverse was making fun of the actor for his recent weight gain.

Well, when we first saw this image, we too needed a second look to recognise the 'Chocolate boy' hero of 'No Entry'.

But in an age when people are taking a stand against body shaming of actresses, it seemed strange that the 42-year-old actor would be the butt of jokes for putting on some weight.

There some, though, who spoke up for Fardeen and highlighted the fact that body shaming, irrespective of gender, wasn't cool. They also spoke of how body shaming a celeb has repercussions on ordinary folks.
