'Tiger 3' was released on Sunday, November 12, coinciding with Diwali. Despite the festive day, the film saw a great opening by collecting Rs 43 crore. However, barring day 2, the film largely saw a dip in collections. Despite the dip in box office, the film crossed Rs 300 crore worldwide in week itself.
On Friday, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi attended a fan screening where they spoke about the film. He said, “Actually, it’s amazing that even after the World Cup match and India was scoring well and won all the matches, we entered during this time. And our collections are really good. Inshallah, India will win the match tomorrow. And I want my fans to return to theatres after the World Cup is over," said Salman talking about the film clashing with finale week of the cricket world cup.
'Tiger 3' opened to Rs 43 crore on opening day and saw a rise in collection on Monday with Rs 58 cr. On day 3, it managed to collect Rs 43.50 crore. However, the film saw over a 50 percent dip in collections on Wednesday, collecting Rs 20.5 cr. Trade analysts feel the India vs New Zealand World cup semi final played a role in the low ticket sale
Set after the events of 'Pathaan', 'Tiger 3' sees Salman's titular spy race against time to save both his family and country. It marks the fifth film in the YRF Spy Universe. The day two collection of the movie has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Jawan' and Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2', which earned Rs 53.23 crore and Rs 43.08 crore, respectively.
