She was barely four years old when she faced the camera for the first time. And as Sridevi steps into her 50th year in films, she will receive an unusual gift from her producer-husband Boney Kapoor. A source says, "July 7, 1967, was the day when Sridevi first walked into a film set. As a special gesture, he has decided to release her next, MOM, on that date."
Sridevi started her filmi journey as a child artiste in MA Thirumugham's Thunaivan and continued to act in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. MOM, which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, happens to be the actress' 300th film. Earlier planned as only a Hindi release, the movie will now release in three other languages too — Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

Says Boney, "Sridevi is one the country's biggest superstars. Over the past 50 years, she has amassed a huge fan base. [Post English Vinglish, 2012] her fans are eagerly anticipating her next. After the teaser was released, distributors down South are supporting the film. They have sent several requests for dubbing it in South languages as well. This is why we decided to release the film in more languages other than Hindi."
