It's okay if you have no one to celebrate Valentine's Day with this year. Here are some movies you can watch that will inspire you to discover yourself and enjoy some me-time

Tired of doom-scrolling on Instagram yet? With Valentine's Day around the corner, you might either see happy couples celebrating the day/week or brands pushing their idea of love. Well, if you are done with the mindless social media scrolling, here are some feel-good movies you must watch if you are single this V-Day: 


Dear Zindagi: 


Who said Shah Rukh Khan films only cater to the ones looking for love or are deeply in love? Watch this Gauri Shinde directorial where Khan plays a psychologist who helps navigate the confused heart and mind of Alia Bhatt's character. Their therapy sessions dish out several life lessons in an easy breezy manner. 


Dil Chahta Hai:

The most iconic film made on young friendship. The film beautifully captures the evolution of friendship from college days to adulthood as one struggles with their individuality. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, the film stars Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta and Dimple Kapadia. 

Queen:

It follows the story of a young girl named Rani who just wanted to get married to the man she loves. But when the groom decides to back off at the last moment, a devastated Rani decides to go on their honeymoon all by herself. What follows is Rani discovering herself as she navigates unknown territories. 

English Vinglish:

Sasi is a simple housewife whose life revolves around her husband and two kids. But she is never valued for the work and sacrifices that she does for her family. When she sets out to America for the first time all by herself, she decides to take up the challenge of learning a new language. In the process, she discovers a lot about herself. 

Piku:

Follows the relationship dynamics between a father and daughter as they embark on a road trip, exploring love, life, and family. The film by Shoojit Sircar stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Irrfan Khan. 

Little Women: 

Greta Gerwig’s heartfelt Louisa May Alcott adaptation is a meditation on women and commerce in the 19th century.

How To Be Single: 

Based on the novel by Liz Tuccillo and follows a group of young women in New York City and their different approaches to being single. With a diverse and talented cast including Dakota Johnson, Rebel Wilson, Damon Wayans Jr. and Jason Mantzoukas, the film brings the funny and reaffirms that it’s okay to be single

Wild:

Reese Witherspoon's character loses her mother to cancer. The aftermath results in her marriage getting destroyed. She then sets on a journey of self-discovery and reevaluates her life. Her character embarks on a 1,100-mile solo hike on the Pacific Crest Trail in light of the crippling personal tragedy.

Legally Blonde: 

When sorority girl Elle Woods gets dumped by her Ivy League boyfriend, she sets off to win him back by earning a degree at Harvard Law School and along the way discovers that there’s so much more to her than just looks and being blonde. The film is the epitome of girl power and even after 2 decades manages to engage the audience.
