Shreyas Talpade has extended support to theatre actors and live performing artistes amidst the pandemic. The actor launched his app, Nine Rasa, last year. It showcases plays, and live performances. Via a newly launched catalogue, clubs can organise joint screening of plays, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of one’s home. It is a paid subscription-based service. He has promised that a sizeable chunk of the revenue will go to the cast and crew.

"We started Nine Rasa with the idea of helping the theatre community during lockdown last year. This year again they are facing the same consequences because of the virus. Hence, our Nine Rasa team and I decided to do something for them again. I hope people come in large numbers and contribute towards this noble cause. I also request people to be safe and take care of their loved ones in these difficult times," said Shreyas.
Nine Rasa offers content in multiple variations including plays, skits, storytelling, and stand-up across genres. The platform is available in multiple languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and English.
The actor is known for his work in commercially super hit films like the Golmaal Series, Om Shanti Om and many more. However, his performance in Iqbal was what got him recognition across the globe. The film was directed by Nageesh Kokunoor. Shreyas since then has been a part of many projects and stayed in people's heart with his performances. His light-hearted and lovely comedy in the Rohit Shetty series "Golmaal" came at a time when we all had the luxury of theatres but we kept on enjoying his performance in the film series on television also.
