Watch the video below.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) Why did Kangana Ranaut receive death threats? A viral video, shared by Kangana herself shows two men threatening her with dire consequences if she does not stop the release of her film ‘Emergency’ which shows the Sikh community in a negative light. Punjabi influencer Viky Thomas Singh says in the video, "History cannot be changed. If they portray Sikhs as terrorists in the film, then remember what happened to the person the movie is about. Remember who Satwant Singh and Beant Singh were. Those who point a finger at us, we break that very finger... If we can sacrifice our heads, we can also behead you." She also sought police help in the case.  Please look in to this @DGPMaharashtra @himachalpolice @PunjabPoliceInd https://t.co/IAtJKIRvzI — Kangana Ranaut (@KanganaTeam) August 26, 2024 Ban on Emergency For those unversed, the Akhal Takht, the highest temporal seat of the Sikhs, and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) have demanded an immediate ban on the movie, claiming it tries to "character assassinate" Sikhs. SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami, addressing a press conference, also sought the registration of an FIR against Kangana Ranaut. The community can never forget the anti-Sikh brutality of June 1984 and Ranaut's film is trying to character assassinate Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale, who has been declared a Qaumi Shaheed (community's martyr) by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Singh said. About Emergency movie  'Emergency', a project helmed by Kangana Ranaut, boasts a stellar cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. Based on the period when an emergency was imposed in the country in 1975, it stars Kangana as the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. The political drama, which explores a significant and controversial period in Indian democracy, is set to hit theatres worldwide on September 6, 2024. What Kangana said about the farmers’ protest? It's been a while since Kangana got slapped at the airport by a female CISF official for speaking about the farmers’ protest. Ranaut stoked a controversy by suggesting that the farmers' protest could have led to a Bangladesh-like situation in the country had the top leadership not acted strongly. She also alleged that during the farmers’ stir against the three farm laws, “bodies were seen hanging and rapes were taking place.” This led to heavy criticism across the political arena including her own party distancing themselves from her.  (With inputs from Agencies)

Stree 2 actor Abhishek Banerjee on workplace harassment: 'Created a system....'

Abhishek Banerjee is currently enjoying the success of Stree 2. Besides acting, he's been working as a casting director for 15 years and co-owns a casting agency in Mumbai called Casting Bay.  Stree 2 actor Abhishek Banerjee on workplace harassment In an interview with NDTV, Abhishek shared that his company has strict rules to create a safe workplace for women. He mentioned that meetings outside the office are not allowed, and no one is allowed to text female colleagues after a certain time. He also admitted to firing employees who broke this rule. Abhishek Banerjee stated, “The first thing we did was that we decided on a rule that we will not do any meetings or none of our employees are allowed to do any meetings outside our office. Because the problem which was really deep-seated was that there was a lot of coffee shop-meeting culture in Bombay. ‘Let's meet at this coffee shop, meet at this restaurant'. We wanted to say ‘No, that's not professional. We are not going to work in a coffee shop. You are not meeting to eat food or have coffee. You are meeting for work. So let's keep it professional. You come to our office, whoever wants to meet, we will give you time. You come, speak to us, and then you go'.” Explaining more about the strict rule on messaging women, Abhishek Banerjee added, “None of our employees are allowed to message female actors after a certain point. If you do that, strict actions will be taken which we have. We have fired employees who have messaged actresses at a certain hour which was probably objectionable. We created a system where women would feel safe.”  Wondering why Shraddha Kapoor's presence in Stree 2 was limited? In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Amar Kaushik shared that he received feedback regarding Shraddha Kapoor’s limited screen time in Stree 2. He mentioned: “Some people even complained that Shraddha Kapoor’s screen time is less. Lekin agar Shraddha zyada dikhti, toh jis tarah ki entry ki usne, uska impact nahin hota (But if Shraddha had been more visible, the kind of entry she made would not have had an impact).” Discussing the screen time of other actors like Aparshakti Khurana, Kaushik highlighted that the focus is always on the needs of the script. He commented, “We write what is required,” and shared that they didn’t think along the lines of an actor feeling bad about the duration of his or her role.

Felt the energy, the adrenaline and the spirit of this festival in every moment we captured Happy Janmashtami🤗"           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by KARTIK AARYAN (@kartikaaryan) Kartik received tremendous positive reviews from all over, with people praising him for his performance in Chandu Champion. This made him shine at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2024 (IFFM), where he won the award for Best Performance (Male) for the film.  Filmmaker Kabir Khan took home the Best Director trophy from the festival. To Khan, the honour holds special importance for a reason. “Since it was from an international jury, composed of celebrated filmmakers and critics who are judging you only on the basis of the film, it gives you validation. When I heard Chandu Champion’s story, I knew it had to be told, and if I didn’t tell this story, it would be a crime that our country would never get to know about Murlikant [Petkar].”   Making the biopic was challenging for both Khan and his leading man. The director recalls, “The making was tough given the kind of transformation Kartik had to go through. It’s not easy to go from 39 per cent body fat to seven per cent. He dedicated a year-and-a-half to learning boxing because he fought against real boxers in the film.” Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan, has a string of big releases lined up. He is set to star in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, slated for a Diwali release, followed by Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 and Anurag Basu’s musical love story.

Rhea Chakraborty on coping with ‘pain, anxiety, PTSD’ after Sushant’s death

Rhea Chakraborty has started a podcast where she invites actors from the industry and delves into deep conversations with them. The recent guest on Chakraborty's podcast was Aamir Khan. In the episode, Rhea opened up about her journey of coping with and coming out of the tragic death of her boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020. As Rhea discussed the tragic incident and its aftermath, Aamir Khan praised her for the courage she showed during the entire ordeal.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Rhea Chakraborty (@rhea_chakraborty) Aamir Khan Praises Rhea When life took a dramatic turn, Rhea managed to stay strong and deal with everything with utmost maturity. Talking about it, Aamir shared, “What happened with you, I would call it a tragedy. The way your life changed after that, and the way you have shown patience and strength—you didn’t lose hope or faith in yourself. We all can learn a lot from that. A person’s morale breaks and gets crushed. You are starting your second chapter.” Rhea on coping with PTSD & Pain After Aamir boosted her confidence, Rhea talked about how her Army upbringing helped her and said, “I think Army upbringing also makes a difference. Because you know life is tough. You have seen it from childhood that when Dad leaves, there’s a possibility he may not come back. You are taught to fight and never give up. To always stay hopeful. It's just inherent in your DNA. No one can defeat you easily.” Aamir Khan quipped, “You have shown remarkable courage and you should be proud.” The actress added, “It took me so long to start chapter 2 because I was healing all this while. There was pain, anxiety, PTSD, and whatnot. And grief has a veto power over everything else. You could be talking to someone, and you get engulfed by grief out of the blue. Those were some of the things, but today I feel that I have renewed energy. I feel like meeting people; my curiosity has been revived. There was no interest in knowing about others and their lives. There’s depression conditioning your mind. After overcoming that, now I feel like the sun is rising again. I feel like doing new things.” Rhea's reason behind starting the podcast Further, while explaining the real motivation behind having her own podcast, Rhea shared an incident when a podcaster called her, promising a safe space, and in turn made her feel worse. While sharing the incident, she said, “One of the biggest reasons why I started a podcast of my own was the fact that media went extreme with the whole episode. I tried to give interviews a couple of times, but I didn’t feel good. I went on a podcast some time ago, and he promised me that ‘Come, we will talk as friends,’ that person said, ‘I won’t question you like a journalist, we are new media, we are podcasters,’ but he made it all even worse for me. I didn’t let him release that podcast. At least, in the case of traditional media, I know how they are going to approach things, and I go prepared. It was that day that I decided I want to create a safe space where I want to speak to people.” Rhea faced a media trial and a lot of backlash after Sushant's demise. The actress had to face public scrutiny, and that was the darkest phase of her life.

The Laal Singh Chaddha actor said, "Ira was struggling with depression at the time; she is much better now. But then she needed me. Junaid is starting his career. He has lived his life without me. And now, perhaps he is taking the last big step in his life, towards his career. If I am not with him at this time, then what’s the point? Azad is 9 years old now. In another 3 years, he will be a teenager. His childhood won’t come back.” Further, while claiming that he has extremely strong feelings for his kids and family, he added, “Not that I don’t have strong feelings for my kids; I feel a lot for my family. But the fact that I already had my close ones around me, I had to win over the audience. I have laughed and cried with them (fans) through my films and stories. I have given hope to people. But when Ira and Junaid were five or six years old, I didn’t know anything about their feelings then, what their problems were, what they needed, or what their challenges were. I had no idea about these things.” The actor got emotional as he shared, "I knew everything about my team and directors but was unaware of my own children’s challenges. I felt very bad. So, that time was very difficult for me. Nobody told me this; I realized it myself. Ira and Junaid’s childhood won’t return. I could have spent a lot more time with my mother in the last 30 years, which I didn’t. The time will never return.” About Aamir's upcoming To note, Sitare Zameen Par will be Aamir Khan's first film after announcing his wish to take a break from movies.
