Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is winning hearts and has created a storm on the internet with his multiple and diabolical looks in the trailer of the film 'Padmavati'

Ranveer Singh's 'Khilji' looks vicious and menacingly dangerous

In the recently released trailer of 'Padmavati' Ranveer Singh is clearly the winner, over Deepika Padukone's 'Padmavati' and Shahid Kapoor's Raja Rawal Ratan Singh.

Ranveer Singh plays the dangerous and vicious ruler Sultan Allaudin Khilji who seeks vengeance. The first look of his character which was launched a few days ago took the internet by storm. Ranveer will be donning several looks in the film. Right from being a Sultan to being a warrior on the battlefield to being a man wounded deeply in love.

There is one scene in the trailer, where Ranveer is shown ravaging food and it is unlike anything was ever seen in a Bollywood film before. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has paid special attention to even in the minute details of 'Khilji's diabolic personality. If there is evil incarnate, it has to be Ranveer Singh's 'Sultan Allaudin Khilji'.

Ranveer enters the trailer slightly later than Deepika and Shahid, but his look is mind-blowing and captivating. After a long time does a Bollywood film have a larger-than-life villain. He looks dangerous with his flowing tresses and a blood-stained face. It is said that playing 'Sultan Allaudin Khilji' took a toll on Ranveer to an extent that he had to seek psychiatric help to get out of the character. Ranveer has also undergone drastic physical transformations to get into the skin of the character.

Singh, in his bid to do justice to the role of the ambitious and obsessive Sultan, curated a special playlist that helped him align with his dark character. A source says, "His spot boy would accompany him while he travelled to the set and got into his attire, all the while holding a speaker that belted out the tracks."

A narcissistic man, Khilji is also rumoured to have had a homosexual partner. The character is played by Jim Sarbh, but SLB has ensured that the cast doesn't talk about their roles in the media.

The trailer itself has, breath-taking and captivating visuals. For those interested in History in late 1303 was when the eight-month long siege of Chittor by Sultan Alauddin Khilji took place.

'Padmavati' is based on folklore that 14th-century ruler Alauddin Khilji fell in love with Padmini, the queen of Chittor and wife of Maharawal Ratan Singh. Choosing honour over a life in Delhi, Padmini and the other women of Chittor killed themselves by leaping into a fire – a practice called 'Jauhar'.

The movie had been embroiled in several controversies as the members of the Rajput community, 'Karni Sena' burned the posters and even asked for a ban on the film over the depiction of Queen 'Padmavati'.
