Pooja Bhatt Birthday

Pooja Bhatt is one of the most loved and bold actresses of yesteryear. It is true that her life has been surrounded by many controversies, but there is a lot to look beyond. Today, on Pooja Bhatt’s Birthday, we take a nostalgic journey through some of her top films that have left an indelible mark on Indian cinema.

Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin (1991):

Pooja Bhatt made her acting debut in this romantic drama alongside Aamir Khan. The film, directed by her father Mahesh Bhatt, was a runaway success and showcased Pooja's acting prowess, establishing her as a promising newcomer in the industry.

Sadak (1991):

In this cult classic, Pooja starred opposite Sanjay Dutt. The film, also directed by Mahesh Bhatt, delves into the dark alleys of the human psyche and is remembered for its powerful performances and memorable music. 'Sadak' was that film in Pooja’s career which gave her a lot of fame and limelight. This film helped her establish herself in the industry. In 2020, Pooja returned to the film industry with the sequel to 'Sadak,' which starred her half-sister Alia Bhatt in a leading role. 'Sadak 2' was also Mahesh Bhatt’s return to the directorial seat after 20 years.

Junoon (1992):

In 1992, a film came which gave Pooja Bhatt the liberty to showcase her versatility by essaying a pivotal role in 'Junoon,' a film exploring the complexities of relationships. Her nuanced performance added depth to the narrative, earning critical acclaim.

Zakhm (1998):

In this hard-hitting drama, Pooja Bhatt shared the screen with Ajay Devgn. The film, loosely inspired by Mahesh Bhatt's real-life experiences, earned Pooja the National Film Award for Best Actress. The movie gave us an iconic song which is still in many of our playlists, ‘Gali Mein Aaj Chaand Nikla.’ The Alka Yagnik songs still put a smile on our faces.

Chup: Revenge of the Artist (2020):

After a good break from big-screen releases, Pooja Bhatt aced the role of a journalist in Sunny Deol and Dulquer Salman starrer. In the film, though Pooja didn’t have an extensive role, her portrayal left a mark on the hearts of the audience, and it is a big compliment for an actor.
