It seems Sidharth Malhotra plays a cop in Indra Kumar’s Thank God. He shared the first look of his character and captioned it, "Just on my way to say hi to Mr Rohit Shetty." The filmmaker might just consider him for the next outing of his cop universe. Thank God, which also stars Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh, is pitched as a slice of life comedy with a message. While Rakul has shared the screen with both Ajay and Sidharth, Thank God will mark the first collaboration of Ajay and Sidharth.

"We have been waiting for a long time to begin the shoot and finally we will start on 21st of January, 'Thank God!'. It is an entertaining slice of life comedy with a message and I am quite excited to be working again with Ajay Devgn whom I've known since so many years along with the young guns Sidharth and Rakul," said Indra Kumar to IANS.

"Thank God is a very interesting and entertaining script. Indra Kumar films are hardcore commercial laughter riots and it is a pleasure to collaborate with him and Ashokji (Ashok Thakeria) on this one. I have worked with Ajay sir and he aces this genre while Sidharth and Rakul will show their fans something new with ‘Thank God'," said producer Bhushan Kumar.

On the professional front, Sidharth Malhotra and rumoured girlfriend Kiara Advani are collaborating for the first time for Dharma Productions' Shershaah, a film that's based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, where Malhotra plays the titular character and Advani plays his fiancée Dimple Cheema. The film is directed by Vishnuvardhan, which is based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra. Earlier, it was slated to release on July 3, 2020, but was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
