After sweeping off the box office for straight two days, Shah Rukh Khan's latest outing, 'Pathaan' has seen its first-ever dip in collections on Friday. As per the reports on boxofficeindia.com, the early estimates round off to approximately Rs. 35-36 crore. This takes the overall collection to an estimated Rs. 158-159 crore nett. Besides Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role, 'Pathaan' also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.
The movie which stars SRK as a R&AW agent has significantly broken the weekend marks previously held by superstar Yash's 'KGF 2' and SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali 2' with a three-day total of almost Rs.160 cr nett (Rs. 140 cr nett). The movie is anticipated to gross more than Rs. 250 crore over the course of weekend.
On day 2, Pathaan collected 68 crore nett in Hindi format, while dubbed formats earned Rs. 2.5 crore nett. The total India collection on Day 2 was Rs. 70.50 crore nett (82.94 crore gross). It thus became the first Hindi film to breach the Rs. 70 crore nett collection on a single day. Meanwhile, the overseas collection was also incredible as it collected 30.70 crore gross.
Pathaan created more history on its second day when it beat its own record for the highest day ever which it set on the opening day - Rs. 55 crore in Hindi format + 2 crore in dubbed formats - amounting to a total of Rs. 57 crore nett on day 1.
After the stupendous opening at the box office over the Republic day weekend, Pathaan has created history by crossing 100 crores globally. And now with the weekend, there is room for the numbers to grow. Reports and trade experts suggest that the SRK starrer might mint the 200 crore net mark today. It will come as no surprise if the film goes on to register a blockbuster weekend and ends Sunday with collections over Rs. 250 crore net.
