Kangana Ranaut is currently campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections. She will be contesting in the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The actress who makes her political debut this election season has also been making controversial and viral remarks during her speeches. She recently claimed that she has received the same amount of love and respect as senior actor Amitabh Bachchan has in the film industry.

During a recent election rally, Kangana was seen making this statement comparing herself with Bachchan. In the videos from the rally, Ranaut can be heard saying, "Sara desh hairaan hai, ki wo Kangana, chahe Rajasthan chali jau, chahe mai West Bengal chali jau, chahe mai Delhi chali jau, chahe mai Manipur chali jau, aisa lagta hai ki mano itna pyaar aur itna sammaan… Mein daave se keh sakti hu ke Amitabh Bachchan ji ke baad aaj kisiko industry me milta hai to wo mujhe milta hai. (The whole country is surprised… whether I go to Rajasthan, or I go to West Bengal, or I go to Delhi, or I go to Manipur, it feels like there is so much love and respect. I can confidently say that after Amitabh Bachchan ji, if anyone gets such love and respect in the industry, I get it.)"
Kangana Ranaut and Amitabh Bachchan have never shared screen space until today. The latter has praised Ranaut's performance and sent her handwritten note of appreciation and bouquets for her performance in 'Queen' and 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'.
On the work front, Kangana will be seen in 'Emergency.' The film depicts the most controversial spectacle in the history of Indian Democracy, centered around one of the most sensational leaders of all time, the first woman Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. Kangana features in the titular role of the late politician in her first solo directorial film. The movie also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the film’s music is orchestrated by Sanchit Balhara, with screenplay and dialogues by Ritesh Shah.
