Atlee dismisses idea of 'clash' between Baby John and Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2

Filmmaker Atlee's much-awaited action drama film starring Varun Dhawan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Keerthy Suresh is slated to hit the cinemas on Christmas. However, speculations are that the movie will face tough competition as Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's Pushpa 2 is still ruling the box office. Pushpa 2: The Rule had a worldwide release on December 5, 2024, and has collected over Rs 1400 crore.  Atlee clarifies Baby John is not clashing with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 Despite this mega clash, Atlee is confident of the success of Baby John and dismissed the idea of a 'clash' between the two films. At a recent press meet, the Jawan director provided a clarification on why he thinks it is not a clash. The director said, "It’s an ecosystem. Me and Allu Arjun sir are very good friends. We’re releasing Baby John in the fourth week of December, not head-to-head. So don’t call it a clash. There’s no conflict here. We’re aware that Pushpa 2 shifted from August to December, and we’ve planned our release around Christmas. We’re all professionals, and we know how to handle this." Atlee further shared the close bond between him and Icon-star Allu Arjun. The filmmaker said, “He congratulated me about the film and spoke to Varun. There’s great friendship and love in this ecosystem,". Varun Dhawan's support towards Pushpa 2 actor Allu Arjun Recently, when Allu Arjun was arrested, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan came forward to support the actor. While extending his condolences to the grieving family, Varun mentioned that it is unfair to solely blame one person for such an event. He said, "Har cheez ek actor apne par nahi le sakta hai. We can tell people around us. Jo hadhsa hua hai vo bohot dardnak hai, and I send my condolences, but at the same time blame mein sirf ek insaan par nahi dal sakta." Allu Arjun was arrested over a fan's death case in the stampede that occurred on the premiere of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. Baby John is directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee and his wife Priya under their banner A for Apple Studios in collaboration with Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studio and Jyoti Deshpande’s Jio Studios. The film also features a cameo from Salman Khan and is slated to hit the cinemas on the occasion of Christmas hoping for enormous success.

Faizan Bazmee after wrapping the shoot of Postman with Sanjay Mishra (pic/Instagram)

Anees Bazmee's son Faizan wraps shoot of directorial debut stars Sanjay Mishra

Director Anees Bazmee’s son, Faizan Bazmee, makes his directorial debut with the short film Postman, featuring the renowned actor Sanjay Mishra. Speaking about the film, Faizan says, “The film follows the journey of a postman living in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK), whose life is shaped by political unrest and personal struggles. One day, he receives a mysterious letter meant for him an event that changes his life in unimaginable ways. The story beautifully intertwines themes of resilience, duty, love, and the power of untold truths in a land overshadowed by conflict.” Faizan Bazmee heaps praise for actor Sanjay Mishra Reflecting on his experience as a debutante director working with Sanjay Mishra, Faizan adds, “This was my biggest project yet as a director, and while I was initially nervous about working with an actor as brilliant as Sanjay Mishra, he made the experience seamless with his incredible work ethic and commitment. Despite having a dupe, he insisted on performing the long-running sequences on the uneven ground himself. I feel fortunate to have worked with such an inspiring individual, and I hope he continues to motivate young filmmakers like he motivated me.” Faizan describes how the idea of the film struck him When asked how he came up with the idea for the film, Faizan shares, “The idea for the film came around five years ago when my close friend Shwet (the co-writer) and I were brainstorming ideas. It began as a simple story about a postman’s life but evolved into something far beyond what I could have imagined. Shwet and I expanded it into a feature film with many interesting elements. What excited me the most was the message: you might excel at your work, but can you deliver when it truly matters?           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Faizan Bazmee (@faizanbazmee) We decided to shoot the film only when we felt confident in doing justice to it. Eventually, we thought of creating a short version to capture the essence of the characters, mood, and feel of the story without revealing the entire plot. If audiences liked it, we could then develop the full feature film.” Faizan further mentioned in his post that the 13 days of the shoot were his best days.

Sonu Sood reacts as 'Laapataa Ladies' falls out of Oscar's race

Director Kiran Rao's film 'Laapataa Ladies', India's official entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 97th Academy Awards, is no longer in the Oscars race. The film, which had garnered a lot of anticipation after being chosen as India's entry, did not make it to the Academy's official shortlist. However, actor Sonu Sood asserted that the real award for any film is the love and appreciation of the audience.  While speaking to the media at a press conference in New Delhi, Sood said, "Real Oscar is the audience who shower their love on the film. What matters is to make a place in the hearts of people, awards just remain confined to the shelves.." In September, the Film Federation of India, led by Jahnu Barua, selected 'Laapataa Ladies' from a list of 29 films in several Indian languages, including Payal Kapadia's 'All We Imagine As Light' and the National Award-winning 'Aattam'. Actor Sonu Sood, who is making his directorial debut with 'Fateh', has collaborated with Yo Yo Honey Singh for the track 'Hitman'.  While sharing his working experience with Sonu Sood, the ace singer said, "So, when Sonu paaji came to me and said we have to make a song for Fateh, it reminded me of nearly sixteen years ago when I worked in a studio in Mohali. At the time, I wasn't a thing in Bollywood, but in Punjab, I was a successful music director who made really futuristic tunes." He added how Sonu recommended his name to other producers, "I showed him my Brown Rang, Angrezi Beat and other songs, and he said, 'Brother, your time will come, and Bollywood will come to you.' I asked him, 'It really seems that way to you?'  Then, he went to Mumbai and referred my name to all the big music directors, producers, film directors, and filmmakers in the industry, saying there's a guy in Mohali who's creating amazing sounds. But nobody claimed it, nobody came. However, when people finally started coming, and Bollywood started happening, I met Sonu again in Bombay and told him that his vision had come true." "Sonu is a visionary and a brother who always helps others in difficult situations. He helps his own people, and the entire world knows he does a lot for people he doesn't even know. He risks all for others. So, rather than being a filmmaker or actor, a person who has dedicated his entire life to serving others has a heart that simply wants to serve people. I've seen it; he's always on the phone, helping someone. If people like him don't succeed, then who will?," he shared. Earlier, the makers shared the teaser of the film. Sonu took to his official social media handle 'X' and dropped the teaser clip. The teaser starts with the statement, 'Never underestimate a nobody.' It then cuts to a voiceover in which Sonu Sood is heard conversing with another individual, correcting that he killed 50 people on March 19, not 40. "You'll never find those ten bodies," he said and also added, "Bhagvaan unki atma ko shanti de" Sood while sharing the teaser wrote on X, "AA RAHA HOON...Action speaks louder than words. #Fateh! Brace yourselves for the biggest action-packed thriller!" Produced by Sonali Sood for Shakti Sagar Productions' and Umesh KR Bansal for Zee Studios, 'Fateh' is slated to release on January 10, 2025. He further mentioned, “If you write ‘Panjab’ instead of ‘Punjab’, it will remain ‘Punjab’. Panj Aab - 5 Rivers. Bravo, those who create conspiracy around the usage in a language of the Englishmen. You know what, I will write ‘Panjab’. How many times do we prove that we LOVE INDIA? Bring something new, or is creating conspiracy is what you get paid for? #Vehley”. Prior to that, the actor-singer declared that he won't organise live shows in India until the concert infrastructure in the country is sorted so that it makes it worthwhile for the attendees as well. Several clips of the actor-singer have gone viral on social media in which he could be seen talking about the need to improve the infrastructure for live shows in India. He said in one of the clips, "Here we don't have infrastructure for live shows. This is a source of big revenue, many people get work and are able to work here. Main bhi Aamir Aamir Khan’s 2009 film 3 Idiots—a movie that egged people to train attention to their passion when picking a profession—served as inspiration for an entire generation. One among those who was moved by the narrative was OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal, who said, “The film changed my life. The film’s message, ‘Passion ke peeche bhago, paisa aa jayega,’ truly resonates with me. I believe that if you follow your passion, success will follow. That’s exactly what happened to me. Inspired by the movie, I pursued my heart’s calling, and that’s how OYO was born. It all began with a desire to create something new and innovative. My advice to entrepreneurs is simple: Don’t focus solely on making money. Chase your passion, and the money will follow.” Part two Thirteen years after the release of Cocktail (2012), producer Dinesh Vijan is gearing up for Cocktail 2, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
