Himesh Reshammiya is an angry man. The music director/actor/producer is apparently now contemplating legal action against musician Rishi Chanda who has alleged that the song, Caller Tune, from Humshakals, is very similar to his song, Soniye Tu Janiye Naa, from the Bangla film, Khokhababu.

Rakesh Upadhyay, Reshammiya’s business partner, says, “These days, people have no qualms about making allegations against big names in a bid to attract publicity. Rishi Chanda has done the same by attacking Himesh Reshammiya.”

He adds that Reshammiya is already consulting his lawyers on this matter and contemplating filing a defamation case against Chanda. “This is an attempt at blackmailing us before the film’s release and Chanda has also mentioned that he wants to sell his music here in Mumbai. So you can see why he is mentioning my business partner’s name.”

Meanwhile, Chanda has already written to the film’s producer, Vashu Bhagnani, on similarities between the two songs; he is also planning to meet him on Thursday. “As far as Reshammiya taking legal action against me is concerned, everybody has the right to do what they want. I will only follow my lawyer’s instructions,” says Chanda.
