Kunal Kapoor and Amyra Dastur in Koi Jaane Na
The sudden disappearance of the Kunal Kapoor and Amyra Dastur-starrer 'Koi Jaane Na' from Amazon Prime Video, two days after it dropped on May 27, was not exactly due to a technical error as it was made out to be. The murder mystery was pulled down as the streamer felt some scenes could spell trouble. After their shows, Mirzapur and Tandav were mired in controversy resulting in FIRs being lodged across the country, it was better to play safe.

They wanted to review certain scenes in the film to avoid legal hassles before making it available again. As reported ‘Suddenly gone missing’ (hitlist, June 1), several viewers took to social media to express their disappointment, including those who complained that they were watching the film when it suddenly went off-air.
The streamer’s social media handle tweeted a standard reply, “We’re sorry for the trouble you’re facing. We are aware of this issue, and our teams are working on it. We request you to stay tuned to our website for more updates.”

For the uninitiated, Koi Jaane Na is helmed by Aamir Khan’s friend Amin Hajee. It released in theatres in March, just before the lockdown was announced due to a spike in virus cases. Koi Jaane Na dwells on the story of a dejected writer who takes to hills to escape his writer’s block and rediscovers love. But things turn awry as he finds the trails of a mysterious serial killer and murders start haunting the town.
This mystery-thriller is written and directed by Amin Hajee and features Kunal Kapoor and Amyra Dastur along with Aditi Govitrikar, Karim Hajee, Atul Kulkarni and Ashwini Kalsekar in pivotal roles. In the film, Kunal plays a writer named Kabir Kapoor and Amyra Dastur plays his love interest. The story unveils how a series of mystery murder that takes place coincides with what Kabir writes in his book.
It seems like people have to wait a little bit more for this one to get back on the OTT channel.
